country pubs in Worcester

There is no doubt that there has been a decline in the number of country pubs in Worcester, and every other region of the UK. However, there are still plenty of wonderful, independently owned and run pubs offering great menus, quality food, and an experience unique to them. I hope the reviews below will help you to see the variety of food on offer in our Worcester country pubs.

As you can see, I love country pubs – independent ones anyway! There is a real mix among my country pub reviews. From the Masons Arms which I have passed many times and always thought ‘I must try that place one day’, to the Tap House which I had never before heard of. At least three of the country pubs reviewed identify as a gastro pub – a term I really don’t like. However, as long as the food is good …..

The Bank House is a place I have been to over the years for various events, but I had never really thought about popping in for lunch. I am glad we did as I was able to add one of their dishes to my best dishes in Worcester blog post. The Dew Drop I have eaten in many times and have always had great food. Another country pub that I had never heard of until I started Faithful City Food was the Galton Arms in Himbleton. The Galton Arms offers very good food at reasonable prices in an historic setting.

Now the better weather has arrived, recent reviews at the Royal Oak, Broadwas and the Bell Inn, Broadheath were al fresco affairs – both on lovely sunny days. What could be better?

Support our country pubs and enjoy their uniqueness.
