It has to be said that restaurants in Worcester’s outskirts are often pubs. In fact, pub food makes up the majority of my outskirts reviews. It is rare to find a pub in the countryside that doesn’t rely on food to keep it going. 

If you think that this will be a section full of similar reviews – think again. You will find that independent pubs have re-invented themselves in many different ways. Whether cheap and cheerful pub grub or high end cuisine, where pub food is concerned, there is something for everyone. The reviews above show a good selection of what is on offer in the areas surrounding Worcester. One of the pub/restaurants reviewed identifies as a gastro pub – a term I hate! Another is a very charming and traditional pub, and one a very smart stylish restaurant/pub. With something to shout about is a pub that has its own on-site brewery and serves its own ales (see my Tap House dinner review). You will also find that gardens and children’s play areas feature in four of the pubs reviewed. So it can certainly be said that pub food covers a broad spectrum.
